Foot Orthotics
A foot orthotic, or insole, is a medical device placed inside your shoe to support your feet and improve how they work. It helps with alignment, reduces pressure, and absorbs shock, making walking or standing more comfortable.
Orthotics are often used to treat foot and leg problems like heel pain, arch pain, shin splints, knee pain, arthritis, and diabetes-related foot issues. For best results, they should be worn with supportive shoes.
People also call them inserts, arch supports, or footbeds.
Knee Braces
Knee braces support the joint during injury, recovery, or chronic conditions. Stability braces help with ligament injuries like ACL or MCL tears. Unloading braces reduce pressure for arthritis or meniscus problems. General sleeves offer support for kneecap pain, mild instability, and arthritis. Immobilizers are used after injuries or surgery to keep the knee stable.
Compression Theraphy
We offer a range medical grade graduated compression products for lymphedema, lipedema and venous issues. Certified fitters provide custom measurements by appointment. Our stock includes both off the shelf light travel socks and medical-grade stockings, as well as custom compression garments to meet individual needs. We also carry easy-to-use compression wraps for arms, legs and feet to aid with fluid reduction.
Medical Equipment
Equipment such as Post-Op Cryotherapy and compression devices to improve comfort and rehabilitation. We also have access to protective and rehabilitative devices not commonly found in local pharmacies.
Mastectomy
Mastectomy products are designed to provide comfort, confidence, and support healing after breast surgery. These include items such as post-surgical bras, breast forms (prostheses), and compression garments, all created to meet the unique needs of individuals following a mastectomy or lumpectomy. These products help restore balance, aid with healing, and allow for a natural appearance under clothing. With a focus on both function and comfort, mastectomy products play an important role in physical recovery and emotional well-being.

Custom Foot Orthotics
Many companies offer “custom” foot orthotics, but not all meet the standards required by Extended Benefits providers. Our orthotics are made by certified orthotics manufacturing laboratories using approved techniques and materials, ensuring their quality and functionality.
What sets us apart is our focus on client education, product quality, and support. We use a variety of materials—such as plastics, cork, carbon fiber, and high-density foams—to create truly customized orthotics. Most orders are ready within 7-12 business days, with rush options available. Most modifications are done in our in-house lab,

Custom Made Knee Braces
At Burnaby Orthopaedic we assess for, provide and service custom made knee braces. We have extensive experience and knowledge of braces from major brands such as Ossur (formerly Generation 2), Breg/Bledsoe, Donjoy, Thuasane, Osskin and more. These braces can be used to treat conditions like Osteoarthritis, Meniscal injuries, Ligament instabilities (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL). Our goal is to find the perfect brace to match your specific needs and requirements.
Off-the-Shelf Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs)
We provide a variety of AFOs for all ages and conditions, and provide customized fitting to ensure best fit and function. We also offer lightweight carbon fiber AFOs from Allard, Fillauer, Ottobock, and more.
Custom Shoe Modifications
We provide a variety of shoe modifications to enhance the fit and/or function of footwear. Common modifications include shoe-stretching, internal/external lifts, buttresses and target-offloading.
